The Master of Business in Lean Practice (Waterford Institute of Technology) provides participants with the required knowledge, skills, and know-how in lean enterprise excellence so that they can add value within a modern competitive manufacturing or services environment. During each term guest speakers from industry impart to students their knowledge in Lean, Continuous Improvement, and best practices.
On Saturday March 21st Liam Curham, CEO of Dataworks, was invited by Darrin Taylor, WIT Lean Masters Programme Leader, to present to the combined classes of the Master of Business in Lean Practice and the MBA in Waterford Institute of Technology.
Many of these programme participants work in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences, and medical device sectors – as do the lion’s share of the Dataworks customer base.
We work in partnership with our clients to develop innovative solutions that support and enhance the clients overall LEAN and Continuous Improvement strategy.
To this end, Liam’s industry experience, and the solutions that Dataworks offer our clients, were of particular relevance to the students.
Liam detailed how Dataworks applies technology to enable process improvements and operational excellence, and outlined how the solutions Dataworks can offer are aligned to contemporary Lean management, Six Sigma, and Shingo.
The presentation proved a great opportunity for the speaker and students alike to learn more about how companies are presently operating within the South East, nationally, and internationally. This sharing of knowledge and experience will hopefully contribute towards ensuring sustainability in the South East manufacturing and services sectors going forward.
