ICONICS INTRODUCES WORLD'S FIRST HOLOGRAPHIC MACHINE INTERFACE (HMI)

  •  Company Adopts New Microsoft HoloLens Technology for Manufacturing

ICONICS is a managed Microsoft Gold Partner and winner of the Microsoft Public Sector CityNext Partner of the Year award. The company provides advanced Web-enabled OPC UA and BACnet certified visualization, analytics, and mobile software solutions for any energy, manufacturing, industrial or building automation application.

ICONICS recently announced the world’s first 3D Holographic Machine Interface (HMI) using Microsoft’s HoloLens self-contained holographic computing device, adding to its wide range of Augmented Reality and mobile capabilities.

At its stand at SPS IPC Drives 2016, ICONICS will excite attendees with a firsthand HoloLens’ augmented reality experience, showing its industrial automation software. ICONICS is the first to introduce the ability to visualize real-time and analytics KPIs in 2D and 3D holograms using Holographic Machine Interface (HMI) technology.

“When Microsoft introduced its HoloLens device, we immediately saw its potential to enhance the usability of our industrial and manufacturing automation software” said Russ Agrusa, President and CEO of ICONICS. “A HoloLens device integrated with our classical ICONICS GENESIS64™ HMI/SCADA suite enables users to quickly view needed real-time and analytics data in a hands-free operation. These mixed reality abilities expand our solutions where we make the invisible visible.”

When used with ICONICS AnalytiX® solutions for operational excellence, including fault detection and diagnostics (FDD), and Hyper Historian™ data historian, the additional insight provided by HoloLens can be especially time-saving and useful for maintenance operations and field service personnel, who can benefit from such easily accessed “on the spot” information.

HoloLens integration enhances ICONICS’ existing Augmented Reality technology, which is available as part of the MobileHMI™ data mobility suite. MobileHMI’s Augmented Reality capabilities extend any new application, enhancing mobile users’ experience with location services such as NFC, GPS, RFID, OCR, barcodes, QR codes and any other common technologies used in Industry 4.0 applications. With over 350,000 installations in over 80 countries worldwide, ICONICS software is recommended for automating, monitoring and optimizing a customer’s most critical assets.
